New Interim Chief Of CBI: Latest Current Affairs Of February 2021
On February 3, Additional Director Praveen Sinha was named as Interim Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Rishi Kumar Shukla, the new owner, retired on February 3. The appointment of Praveen Sinha has been approved by the Cabinet Appointments Committee, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As CBI Acting Chief, Praveen Sinha is a 1988 Batch Gujarat IPS officer.
A high-level committee comprising the Prime Minister, the Leader of the Opposition Lok Sabha and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court shall appoint the CBI Chief. Until a full-fledged director is appointed, Sinha will continue as CBI director.

Ajay Singh has been re-elected as President of the Boxing Federation of India (BFI). Ajay, who is also the chairman of SpiceJet Airlines, defeated his opponent, Maharashtra BJP MLA Ashish Shelar. With a margin of 37-27 votes, Ajay Singh won. For four years, he will hold the presidency. In addition, Hemanta Kumar Kalita of Assam was elected as the new Secretary-General of the Federation. 2020 Democracy Index: Today Important Current Affairs
The Economist Intelligence Unit published the worldwide rankings of the 2020 Democracy Index. The Democracy Index classifies 23 nations as full democracies out of 167 countries, 52 as flawed democracies. 35 as democracies and 57 as authoritarian as well. Norway topped the list. India slipped two places and finished in 53rd place. As a result of political backsliding, India’s global ranking fell from 27th (in 2014) to 53rd.

Kuchipudi Dance Teacher Kottapalli Padma Passed Away: Today Important Ca
In Hyderabad, Kuchipudi dance teacher and dancer Kottapalli Padma died. For 18 years, Padma was an apprentice to Dr. Vempati Satyam. A native of Tenali, she settled in Hyderabad, established the Nrityalaya Natya Sanstha, and trained many artists. At the age of five, Padma developed a love for dance. She obtained her diploma in dance at the Vijayawada Music Government Dance College after completing the tenth standard. she went to Madras in 1962 and entered Padma Bhushan Vempati Satyam’s Kuchipudi Arts Academy.
She got titles like Shringara Ramani and Natya Mayuri. The Padma also referred by the Chief Minister Kasu Brahmanandareddy to Kuchipudi’s performance in Madras.
SK Narayanaswamy Passed Away: Today Free Current Affairs
After an illness, former senior PTI journalist SK Narayanaswamy passed away. It was 76 years old for Narayanaswamy. He worked as the head of PTI’s Kerala Bureau in Thiruvananthapuram during his long journalistic journey. He was also the general head of the news agency’s operations in South India. In New Delhi, he retired as Assistant Editor of PTI.
Narayanaswamy tested positive for Covid-19 and recovered from the infection, but it compromised his health. Narayanaswamy, eventually, is no more.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jai Shah was elected as President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Nazmul Hasan will be succeeded by Shah.
