Covishield: Latest Current Affairs Of January 2021
The central government ordered the purchase of 6 crore doses of the “Covishield, Covaxin” in the wake of the Covid vaccination, which will begin on January 16 across the country. In the first trial 1.1 crores and another 4.5 crore doses in the second term by April, the Center has agreed to buy Covishield in 5.5 crore doses. The CoviShield vaccine, produced jointly by Oxford University and AstraZeneca Corporation, is manufactured in Pune, India, by the Serum Institute of India. Besides, Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin is being made.

Under the Central Government, the Khadi and Rural Industries Council (KVIC) developed cow dung paint. The name of this wall painting is “Khadi Natural Paint“. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Transport, Khadi, Industry, and MSMEs, unveiled the painting in New Delhi on 12 January. Cow dung has been used as a component in the manufacture of environmentally friendly natural khadi dyes. “Natural paint is going to be a Rs 6,000 crore industry,” Gadkari said. Former Union Minister Kamal Morarka Passed Away: 16 January 2021 current Affairs
At the age of 74, the former Union Minister and famous businessman, Kamal Morarka, passed away. Kamal was born to a Marwari family on June 18, 1946. Kamal was passionate about sports and served as the President of the Cricket Association of Rajasthan and the BCCI Vice President. In the Chandrasekhar government in 1990-91, he was the Union Minister. From 1988-94, the Janata Dal (Secular) Party of Rajasthan elected Kamal Morarka to the Rajya Sabha. He also controlled the 2012 Samajwadi Janata Party (Rashtriya).
