New Controller General of Accounts: Today Current Affairs
Deepak Das, a Civil Accounts Service officer, was appointed Controller General of Accounts (CGA) by the Department of Expenditure. Das is the 25th officer to fill the position of Chief of General Staff. The CGA serves as the central government’s primary accounting advisor. Das, an Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) officer from the 1986 batch, has worked at the Ministries of Heavy Industries, Commerce, Agriculture, Road Transport, Highways, and Home Affairs. Prior to becoming CGA, he worked for the Central Board of Direct Taxes as the Principal Chief Controller of Accounts.

Vice Admiral SN Ghormade replaced Vice Admiral G Ashok Kumar as the next Vice Chief of the Navy. He is a National Defense Academy graduate who joined the Indian Navy on January 1, 1984. Over the last 35 years, he has held several operational and staff positions. Ghormade has served as the Eastern Naval Command’s Chief of Staff as well as the Director-General of Naval Operations. Ghormade has also served in the Ministry of External Affairs as Director (Military Affairs). Ghormade previously worked at the Integrated Defense Staff Headquarters as the Deputy Chief of the Integrated Defense Staff (Operations and Training).

On the second anniversary of the introduction of the anti-triple talaq law, ‘Muslim Women’s Rights Day is being celebrated around the country. The Modi government passed a bill in 2019 to ban the practice of triple talaq and improve the situation of Muslim women. However, The central government stated that it would be fair to Muslim women and that it would improve their lives. A provision was added for the criminal to be sentenced to three years in prison as well.

G20 Culture Ministers’ Meeting: Latest Current Affairs Today
Italy hosted the G20 Culture Ministers Meeting in 2021. The meeting’s participants spoke from the Minister of State for Culture. Smt.
