The central government has decided to waive its registration fee for electric vehicles. However, The government is pushing individuals to acquire electric vehicles by waiving registration fees. The registration price for vehicles ranges from Rs 300 to Rs 1500, according to Rule 81 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989. This decision was made by the ministry to encourage e-mobility. The ministry had previously recommended a 25% road tax reduction for individual vehicles and a 15% reduction for transport vehicles.
