“Adarsh Gram Yojna”: Today Current Affairs
Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda announced that his ministry would launch the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojna, which will cover 36 thousand villages across the country. The Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAGY) is a rural development program started by the central government in the fiscal year 2009–10 to develop villages with a large percentage of citizens belonging to the scheduled castes (above 50%). In Assam, 1,700 tribal communities will be turned into model villages, he said.
