Shirley Fry Irwin, a member of the Tennis Hall of Fame, passed away. She was 94 years old when she died. Fry was born in Akron, Ohio, and made her first performance on the show when she was 14 years old, in 1941. At the 1951 French Open, Shirley won her maiden Grand Slam singles title. However, Shirley came out of retirement at the age of 28 in 1956. Shirley was also a 13-time Grand Slam doubles champion. From 1946 to 1956, she was in the top ten in the year-end rankings nine times out of ten. In 1970, she was inducted into the Hall Of fame.
