Education and Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan honored 41 skill trainers with virtual Kaushalacharya Awards 2021 for their outstanding contributions to the skill ecosystem on 17th September. These 41 trainers are from Skill India’s Directorate General of Training (DGT), Apprenticeship, and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana projects and training programs (PMKVY). To address this meeting Dharmendra Pradhan said that talent trainers must play a critical role in attaining Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambition of making India the world’s skill capital. Petrol and Diesel Under the Ambit of GST: Today Current Affairs in English
The GST Council has rejected a proposal to include petrol and diesel under the GST’s scope, according to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. She explained the GST Council’s position on the subject, saying that the request to bring petroleum goods under GST was placed before the Council in response to a Kerala High Court judgment, but that the motion was rejected by the states. The GST Council has resolved to inform the court about it. Crude oil, natural gas, diesel, gasoline, and aviation turbine fuel are now exempt from the GST. The Finance Minister announced that the reduced GST rates on COVID drugs have been extended from September 30 to December 31.

G-33 Virtual Informal Ministerial Meeting: Latest Current Affairs Today
On Thursday, Indonesia hosted a G-33 Virtual Informal Ministerial Meeting to discuss G33’s Agricultural Priority Issues and the Way Forward for the Twelfth Ministerial Conference, which will take place from November 30 to December 3. Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi of Indonesia presided over the Informal Ministerial Meeting. Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, gave the opening remarks. Representatives from 21 G-33 countries, including India, took the floor to make a brief intervention out of a total of 47 G-33 members. It also urged for the development of developing and LDC countries as an integral aspect of international trade discussions to be effectively addressed through special and differential treatment.

During his day-long visit to Madhya Pradesh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch the Ujjwala 2.0 scheme. Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is a scheme run by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas that aims to link women from Below Poverty Line (BPL) households to LPG. On May 1, 2016, the initiative was introduced in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. In the second phase of the initiative, the Ujjwala 2.0 scheme seeks to cover 10 million more beneficiaries. Migrant workers can get a free cooking gas connection under Ujjwala 2.0 if they self-declare. No ID proof documents are required for gas connection.
