Modi received the award on March 5 as part of the Ceraweek Conference-2021, which was held online. Modi was honored for his dedication to energy efficiency and environmental protection. UNEP Food Waste Index Report – 2021: Important Current Affairs Of Today
In 2019, 931 million tonnes of food were thrown away globally. In 2019, households accounted for 61% of food waste, followed by food service centers (26%), and the retail industry (13%). About 17% of all food produced in the world is thrown away. 23 million trucks will be filled with waste food (with a capacity of 40 tons). These trucks will circle the globe seven times if parked one behind the other in a row. In India, 11% of the food consumed at home is thrown away. The foodservice centers, about 5% of food is wasted, and in retail stores, about 2% is wasted. In Nairobi, Kenya, the United Nations Environmental Enforcement Program was founded in 1972.

At the Indian Grand Prix Athletics Meet in Patiala, Punjab, India’s star athlete Neeraj Chopra sets a new national record in the javelin throw. Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal in the thrown spear event, setting a new national record of 88.07 meters. Neeraj Chopra broke the national record with a distance of 88.06 meters (at the 2018 Asian Games). Chopra is one of India’s top medal candidates at the Tokyo Olympics. Chopra was representing the state of Haryana.
