PM Modi to open Rs 1,000 crore Projects During a Visit to Varanasi

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi visite Varanasi on Sunday, to his Lok Sabha constituency, and inaugurates 34 development projects worth Rs.1000 crore while flagging off the Mahakaal Express.
  • This express links from Varanasi, Ujjain, and Omkareshwar dedicating to the nation of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Centre.
  • During this visit, the PM Narendra Modi also unveils a 63-foot Deendayal Upadhyaya statue. This is considered as the largest statue in our country. Almost more than 200 artisans were working day and night for the past one year to complete the statue construction.
  • At a public function, PM Modi will dedicate 34 projects along with 430 beds for super specialty government hospitals at the Banaras Hindu University.
  • Modi also inaugurates the two days “Kashi Ek, Roop Anek” exhibition at the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hastakala Sankul which will help buyers and artisans interact from different countries.

Union Government Clears Investment of Rs 540 cr in Stuck Residential Property

  • The Government has investments of more than 540 crores of rupees in some stuck residential properties that will support 1800 home buyers.
  • In order to complete 1500 stalled housing projects, the union government has announced a 25000 crore rupees fund and a conditional clearance was given to 14 projects that will provide relief to ten thousand home buyers for due diligence.
  • A further 40 transactions are still under active review and deemed NPAs (non-performing assets) or insolvency proceedings. The move would likely help 4.58 lakh residential units across the country.
  • Special Window clears ventures with more than Rs 540 crores of capital investments. The Rs.25,000 Crore special window is in the form of an alternative investment fund (AIF). The Center infuses Rs 10,000 crore into this stress fund, while the rest is supplied by state insurer LIC and the largest lender SBI in the country. SBI Cap runs the AIF.

India & Portugal to Sign 14 Agreements

  • President of Portugal – Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa is on a 4-day visit to India. He was received by President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on his first state visit to India on Friday.
  • India and Portugal had agreed to sign 14 MoU’s in key areas like Defense, Investment, Transport, Ports, Culture, and Industrial and Intellectual property rights. After the extensive talks with PM Modi, the agreements will be signed between Modi and Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa in New Delhi today.
  • Agreements were also signed to develop a world-class national maritime heritage complex at Lothal. Sousa also visited Rajghat and paid tribute to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Mr de Sousa will travel to Maharashtra and Goa on his 4-day visit.

India is Attending The German Security Conference in Munich

  • The Munich Security Conference takes place between 14 February 2020 and 16 February 2020 in Germany. Minister of external affairs Jaishankar representing India attended the conference.
  • The Minister has met on the sidelines of the discussion with his counterparts from Georgia, Portugal, and Lithuania. Portugal’s counterpart minister is visiting India as a backdrop for its president.
  • With Portugal presiding over the leadership of the Council of the European Union, India has excellent possibilities to expand its relationship with the European Union.
  • This conference is one of the world’s leading hubs of public discussions on security policy. More than 350 officials from 70 countries participate in the conference every year. It has been founded in the year 1963, includes state leaders, parliamentarians, armed forces officials, industry, media, etc.

Gokulam Kerala has crowned Hero Indian Women’s League Champions After Dramatic Final VS KRYPHSA

  • After an exciting 3-2 victory over Kangchup Road Young Physical and Sports Association (KRYPHSA) FC in the final in Bengaluru on Friday, Gokulam Kerala has crowned Hero Indian Women’s League champions.
  • Gokulam Kerala took a lead of 2-0 through early goals from Prameshwori Devi and Kamala Devi, but Dangmei Grace pulled one back to Kryphsa to reduce the deficit before half-time. Ratanbala Devi in the second half leveled the scores, to set her team on track for what would have been a phenomenal comeback.
  • It was Sabitra Bhandari, however, who struck Gokulam for a late winner. After just 49 seconds out on the clock, the Malabarians took the lead. Kryphsa has caught napping when half Sabitra Bhandari has been identified by a dubious clearance from Gokulam.

UP Govt Decided to Replace Yash Bharti Award With State Cultural Award

  • The Government of Uttar Pradesh decided to replace the Yash Bharti Award with the State Cultural Award.
  • The Yash Bharti Award is Uttar Pradesh’s prestigious and highest government award. Now this award is replaced with the State Cultural Award.
  • The development came after Minister of Culture and Tourism Neelkanth Tiwari held a meeting with officials from the department. Great personalities from the state should get this State Cultural Award.
  • The people who contribute to the state like classical music, folk music, modern and traditional art Ramlila, folk dialects, folk singing, lake dance, gimmick, and the sculpture will be awarded. Along with the State Culture Award, the ministers have also decided to give the cash prizes.

Cha-Chai Art Work, inaugurated by Portuguese President at the National Museum.

  • The President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, is on a four-day visit to India. On February 14, 2020, he inaugurated a Cha-Chai art-work installation at the National Museum along with the Tourism Minister, India Prahlad Singh Patel.
  • The tea at 5 pm is a Portuguese family tradition, that enhances family bonding, by their family culture. The artwork of Cha-Chai symbolically depicts individuals in inter-country relationships as a piece of teapot sculpture has shown.
  • The inaugurated Cha-Chai artwork has made of iron railings. The connection between rural and urban landscapes have represented here.
  • In the artwork, the scent of tea represented the transition from concrete to imaginary. The President is to visit Goa to sign water management and sewerage management agreements for two days.

India’s First-Ever Inter-City Electric Bus Service

  • Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the first-ever inter-city electric bus service on Friday between Mumbai and Pune.
  • Mitra Mobility Solution had manufactured this electric bus.
  • This luxury electric bus is a 43-seater and will for 300 kilometers on a single charge. As per the given report, this electric bus will be operated twice daily between the Mumbai and Pune cities.
  • The Mitra Mobility Solution is already providing the services through 1300 electric buses and planning to extend the services to the nearby cities of Maharashtra. Various Private corporations and State government corporations are planning to order 10, 000 electric buses this year.
