New Symbol For CRPF’s VIP Security Wing: Free Current Affairs
Union home minister Amit Shah on Sunday has given a logo with Garuda, sword, and shield. This is a distinct identity to the CRPF’s VIP Security Wing. While raising a new headquarters for the CRPF the home minister unveiled the logo during this event. The insignia bears a motto of “Always, Aware, Alert”. Recently Union Minister for Electronics and IT Ravi Shankar Prasad has announced that free WiFi will provide to all the villages across the country. Presently, 48,000 Villages have connected via the BharatNet project by March 2020. This project was initially known as the OFC (Optical Fiber Communication Network) Project. The goal of the BharatNet project is to provide more than 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats with high-speed broadband at affordable prices from 2 to 20 Mbps via optical fiber. It has planned to provide district-level broadband connectivity to government institutions. If optical fiber can not use, wireless and satellite networks also not used. Internet connections in schools, health care centers, and skill development centers will be provided free of charge. Bharat Net is used in Gram Panchayats by BSNL, CSB, SPV, TSP, and ISP.

Cabinet Committee on Security has amended rules for Army, Navy and IAF chiefs by the creation of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), a major military adviser to the defense minister on all tri-services related matters. According to 1954 government rules, the service chiefs can serve for a maximum period of three years on attaining the age of 62 years. And also, the CDS are not eligible to hold any government post after resigning. But according to the new amendment rule, the retirement age of the Chief of Defence Staff is maximized to 65 years, if a service chief is appointed to the post. It is reported that CDS will also be a member of the Prime Minister-led Nuclear Command Authority.
