Ministry of Human Resources Development has surveyed on teachers in the country. According to the All India Survey of Higher Education, male teachers are more than females in higher education in the country. There are more females than males in the education system. Bihar has the lowest number of female teachers. Jharkhand is in second and Uttar Pradesh third lowest place. Nursing is the only course with more female teachers than men.
