IDBI Bank Is For Sale: Latest In Current Affairs
The strategic stake sale in LIC-controlled IDBI Bank has received in-principle approval from the Union Cabinet. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has agreed to sell a stake in IDBI Bank. IDBI Bank is a 94 percent-owned joint venture between the central government and LIC. LIC alone owns 49.21% of the company. The government was also authorized to sell its interest in the bank by the LIC board. For future investments and other assistance, IDBI Bank does not need to depend on the government or LICs.
