The US Senate has chosen Vanita Gupta to be the Associate Attorney General. This is the first time a non-white person has been elected Associate Attorney General. However, this is the judiciary’s third-highest position in the United States. Vanitha Gupta is a human rights lawyer of Indian origin. However, She begins her legal career at the age of 28. During the Obama administration, She served as an Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights. Furthermore, the first woman to be elected to the position of civil rights lawyer was also Vanitha.
