- WBPSC Civil Service Preliminary exam contains only 1 paper
- A preliminary exam will conduct a paper on “General Studies”
- The paper carries 200 marks and will be 2 1/2 hour duration
- The WBPSC Civil Service Main exam contains 6 compulsory papers & 1 optional subject
- Group A & B posts will have 6 compulsory papers & 2 optional papers
- Group C & D have 6 compulsory papers
- After completing the Main examination applicants have to appear for the personality test
