INS Khukri: Today Latest Current Affairs
After 32 years of duty in Visakhapatnam, the INS Khukri (P49), India’s first indigenously built missile corvette, was decommissioned on December 24, 2021. The INS Khukri was constructed by Mazagon Dock shipbuilders on August 23, 1989. It was one of a kind in that it served in both the Western and Eastern Fleets at the same time. The DRDO successfully launched the ‘Abhyas’ indigenously designed High-speed Expendable Aerial Target (HEAT) from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur, off the coast of Odisha, on December 23rd.
