Winner of the Don David Award-2021: Latest In Current Affairs
The prestigious Don David Award-2021 was presented to Dr. Anthony Fauci, an American epidemiologist. On February 18, the David Foundation announced the award in recognition of Dr. Fouchi’s work in the prevention of HIV and Ebola infections. Under the award, he will receive $10 million in cash prizes. Each year, the Don David Foundation, headquartered at Israel’s Tel Aviv University, presents awards in three categories. India has tested the ‘Helina and Dhruvastra‘ domestically developed anti-tank guided missile systems (ATGM) successfully. The missile tests were completed on 19 February in Pokhran, Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district. This paved the way for Helina to join the Army and for the Air Force to join Dhruvastra. Helina and Dhruvastra developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization of India (DRDO). These are the third generation of anti-tank guided missiles.
