Educational Qualifications – Indian Army Agniveer Job 2026
- Candidates should have passed 12th, 10th, or 8th standard.
- Class 10th / Matric Pass: Minimum 45% aggregate in five main subjects and at least 33% marks in each subject.
- For boards following a grading system, equivalent grades corresponding to the above percentages will be considered.
- Indian Gorkha Candidates: Minimum simple pass in Class 10th is sufficient.

Selection Process
- Phase I – Online Common Entrance Exam (CEE): This computer-based test will be conducted at designated centres for provisionally shortlisted candidates. Admission to the exam will be strictly based on the Admit Card. The CEE is tentatively scheduled between 01 June 2026 to 15 June 2026.
- Phase II – Recruitment Rally: Based on the vacancies and aggregate marks scored in the CEE, candidates will be shortlisted for the Recruitment Rally. At the rally, candidates will undergo Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Medical Examination, and Document Verification at the designated venue.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT) (At Rally Site)
- 1.6 Km Run
- Group I: Up to 7 minutes 45 seconds – Excellent
- Group II: 7 minutes 46 seconds to 8 minutes 30 seconds – Good
- Long Jump: Minimum 10 feet (qualifying standard)
- High Jump: Minimum 3 feet (qualifying standard)
Salary/Stipend
- Agniveers will be paid a customized package with fixed yearly increment. In addition, Risk and Hardship, Ration, Dress and Travel allowances as applicable. Rs. 30,000/- (1st year)Rs. 33,000/- (2nd year)Rs. 36,500/- (3rd year)Rs. 40,000/- (4th year)
Age Limit
- Minimum Age Limit: 17½ years
- Maximum Age Limit: 22 years
- Eligibility by Date of Birth: Candidates born between 01 July 2005 and 01 July 2009 (both days inclusive) can apply.
Age Relaxation
- Upper Age Relaxation: Up to 30 years (as on the date of joining training) for widows of Defence personnel who died in service.
- Eligibility Note: Women who are widowed, divorced, or legally separated may apply provided they do not have children and meet all other eligibility criteria.
- Widows of Defence Personnel: Eligible to apply for enrolment as Women Military Police, even if they have children, only if they have not remarried.
Physical Standards
- Height: Minimum 162 cm.
- Chest Expansion: Minimum expansion of 5 cm.
- Weight: As per the prescribed BMI standards.
