Foundation Stones of Multiple Projects: Current Affairs 2021
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Dehradun on December 4 to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for a variety of projects worth over Rs. 18000 crore. The visit will focus on projects to improve the road infrastructure, which will make travel easier and safer while also enhancing tourism in the region. According to an AIR correspondent, the Prime Minister will also lay foundation stones for projects in Dehradun that would cost over 700 crore rupees to construct water supplies, roads, and drainage systems. The Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor, for example, will cost roughly Rs. 8,300 crore to construct. It would cut the time it takes to travel from Delhi to Dehradun in half, from six hours to roughly 2.5 hours.
G20 Presidency: Today Latest Current Affairs
On December 1st, India became a member of the G20 Troika. Indonesia and Italy, in addition to India, make up the Troika. According to India’s External Affairs Ministry, the country will take over the G20 presidency from Indonesia in December 2022 and host the G20 Leaders’ Summit for the first time in 2023. As a Troika member, India would work closely with Indonesia and Italy to maintain the G20 agenda’s stability and continuity, according to the statement. PAHCHAN Scheme: Latest in Current Affairs
As of October 31st this year, 27.80 lakh handicraft craftsmen have been enrolled under the PAHCHAN initiative, according to Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal. According to him, the PAHCHAN plan was developed in 2016 to offer craftsmen a new international identity. He explained that the PAHCHAN scheme was created to make it easier for people to get rewards from numerous Union Government initiatives straight into their accounts. Mr. Goyal said Aadhar connected Pahchan cards are provided after appropriate verification by field officials of the Textile Ministry and related state government bodies, in response to queries in the Lok Sabha. According to the minister, only Pahchan cardholders are eligible for all of the initiatives run by the Handicrafts Development Commissioner’s office.
