Molnupiravir, which was originally intended to treat flu, might be given twice a day to those who have just been diagnosed with COVID-19 after proving to be effective in clinical trials. Molnupiravir is approved for use in persons with mild to moderate COVID-19 and at least one risk factor for severe disease.
