Novelist “Abdulrazak” Won Nobel Prize: 08 October 2021 Current Affairs
the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2021 is presented for Tanzanian author Abdulrazak Gurnah for his honest and sympathetic examination of colonialism’s legacy and the suffering of migrants imprisoned across cultures and continents. The prestigious Nobel Prize for Literature is awarded by the Swedish Academy in Stockholm, Sweden. Gurnah, who is 73 years old, has written 10 books, including Paradise and Desertion, as well as many short stories. Abdulrazak Gurnah was born in 1948 on the Tanzanian island of Zanzibar, where he resided until relocating to England as a refugee in the late 1960s. He was a Professor of English and Postcolonial Literature at the University of Kent in Canterbury until recently.

On 06th October, Wednesday, the High Commissioner of Bangladesh in India, Muhammad Imran, honored Ten Indian naval war veterans who took part in Bangladesh’s liberation struggle against Pakistan in 1971. During an event organized onboard the visiting Bangladesh Naval Ship (BNS) Somudra Avijan in Visakhapatnam, the contribution of war veterans from throughout the country was recognized. The event’s Chief Guest was Rear Admiral Tarun Sobti, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet. The Eastern Naval Command’s Rear Admiral Jyotin Raina, CSO (ops), and other senior officers were also there. Anshu Malik, an Indian wrestler, became the first woman from Indian country to win a silver medal in the World Wrestling Championships. India-UK Joint Working Group: Latest in Current Affairs
On Thursday, October 7th, the India-UK Joint Working Group on Cyber Capacity Building conducted its second meeting through video conference. Atul Malhari Gotsurve, Joint Secretary (Cyber Diplomacy) of the Ministry of External Affairs, led the Indian team. Andrew Dinsley, Head of Cyber Programmes, Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office, chaired the UK delegation. The conference included a variety of topics related to cyber capacity building collaboration. The event was held in accordance with the India-UK Framework for Cyber Relationship and in support of the India-UK 2030 Roadmap’s Enhanced Cyber Security Partnership. The delegations discussed a wide variety of topics in order to strengthen current bilateral cooperation and decided to collaborate closely in the field of capacity building.
