R. Dhananjayulu has been appointed as the South Central Railway’s Principal Chief Operations Manager (PCOM). He is a member of the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) from the 1988 batch. Dhananjayulu was previously the Vijayawada Divisional Railway Manager. The Union Cabinet has agreed to expand the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme to manufacturers of air conditioners and LED electric lights. Under the PLI scheme will allow India to play a key role in the global manufacturing sector. However, It would attract foreign investment, enhance job opportunities, and boost exports. Domestic producers of air conditioners and LED lights are eligible for sales discounts of 4 to 6% for five years under the PLI scheme. In addition, the Union Cabinet has agreed to use the ‘National Program on High-Efficiency Solar PV Modules (PLI) scheme for the manufacture of solar PV modules and high capacity gigawatt level solar PV modules.
