New ICMR Advisor: Today Current Affairs In English
BP Acharya, a retired Indian Administrative Service officer, has been named as an advisor to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). He will work as a consultant for the prestigious “National Animal Resource Facility for Biomedical Research” (NARFBR), which is located on 100 acres in Shamirpet, near Hyderabad, in the Genome Valley. The Rs 300 crore project will aid in the conduct of pre-clinical animal trials for the development of medicines and vaccines. Acharya had previously served as the Special Chief Secretary. He also served as the Director-General of Telangana’s MCRHRD Institute. Acharya gained a higher position in the ICMR as a result of her background in biomedical research.
