Raksha Mantri Awards: Latest in Current Affairs
Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh delivered the Raksha Mantri Awards for Excellence 2021 at the Directorate General Defence Estates’ 96th Raising Day in New Delhi. The awardees were honored for their digital achievements and innovations in health, education, and sanitation, as well as public service and land management. Because of the COVID-19 outbreak, education honors were not recognized because classes were given online. The Defense Minister announced a new reward this year for success in implementing the “e-Chhawani” project. The categories are Swachh Chhawani Swasth Chhawani, Digital Accomplishments, Innovation in Public Services, Land and Record Management, Cantonment General Hospital Improvement, and Implementation of the “e-Chhawani” Project.

Foreign Satellites: Daily GK Current Affairs
According to Minister of State for Atomic Energy and Space Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has signed six agreements with four countries for the launch of foreign satellites between 2021 and 2023. Dr. Singh stated in a written reply to a query in the Rajya Sabha that the commercial launch of these foreign satellites will yield roughly 132 million Euros. According to the Minister, 342 foreign satellites from 34 nations have been successfully launched on a commercial basis since 1999. Apart from these launches, the minister stated that three technological demonstrations, including the Scramjet engine, the reusable launch vehicle, and a test for the crew escape mechanism, were successfully demonstrated during this time.
Auction of Coal Mines: Current Affairs 2021
Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi held a press conference in Delhi on December 16 to announce the fourth tranche of the sale of 99 coal mines, including 24 new mines. At the announcement of the latest tranche, the Minister urged investors who had previously completed successful coal mine bids to start production as quickly as possible so that the industry could become more self-reliant. Mr. Joshi also urged officials to seek for more coal blocks to sell. He went on to remark that coal will be vital in India’s energy business for the next 30 to 40 years at the very least. He urged investors to participate more actively in the Coal Ministry’s fully transparent auction process.

Annual Defence Dialogue: Today GK Affairs
On December 17th, the ‘Vigyan Bhawan’ in New Delhi will host the 3rd Annual Defence Dialogue between India and France. Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh and his French colleague Ms @florence will attend the meeting. On December 17th, the French Defense Minister will visit India to boost strategic and defense ties between the two nations. The talks will address a wide variety of Indo-French defense topics, such as operational defense collaboration, particularly maritime security in the Indo-Pacific, an industrial and technological connection aligned with Make in India; and counter-terrorism cooperation.

India Central Asia Dialogue: Latest Current Affairs Today
External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar will host the third edition of the India Central Asia Dialogue in New Delhi from the 18th to the 20th of December. The foreign ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan will attend the meeting. In October of last year, 2020, India held the second gathering via video conference. Arindam Bagchi, a spokesperson for the External Affairs Ministry, told reporters in New Delhi on Thursday, 16 December evening that India and the five Central Asian states have been in talks for several years. Central Asia is included in India’s extended neighborhood. Dr. Jaishankar visited Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan in October of this year, as well as visited Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister.
