United Russia Party Retains Majority: 19 September 2021 Current Affairs
After a three-day election, Russia’s ruling United Russia party, chaired by incumbent President Vladimir Putin, retained a majority in parliament. However, the results revealed that the party had lost around a fifth of its support.
According to the latest figures, over 33% of ballots have been counted, with Putin’s party receiving over 45 percent of the vote and its nearest opponent, the Communist Party, receiving over 22%. While this suggests a resounding victory for the ruling United Russia party, it would be a fall from the party’s performance in the 2016 parliamentary election, when it received more than 54% of the vote.

36th International Coastal Cleanup Day: Daily GK Current Affairs
On September 18th, Eastern Naval Command (ENC) commemorated the 36th International Coastal Cleanup Day for the tenth year in Visakhapatnam. The ENC organized a Coastal Cleanup Drive at Yarada Beach, Bheemili Beach, and other seafronts inside the grounds of Visakhapatnam Naval Units as part of it. Approximately 500 Naval troops, Defence Civilians, and their families participated in the cleanup operation, which was carried out in accordance with COVID19 regulations. The goal of the cleaning was to raise public awareness about the need of keeping our beaches clean, protecting the environment, and instilling the habit of respecting coastlines, which in turn supports marine biodiversity.

Registrations in e-SHRAM Portal: Latest Current Affairs Today
After Bihar, Odisha ranks second in terms of e-SHRAM portal registrations. Over 21 million 69 thousand workers in Odisha’s unorganized sector have already signed up for the portal. On August 26, 2021, the portal was established with the goal of compiling a comprehensive database of unorganized employees across the country. According to the 2019-20 Economic Survey, there is an estimated 38 crore unorganized employees in the country, with over one crore, have already registered on the portal. Workers can use their digital e-SHRAM card to access a variety of social security and employment-based schemes across the country, including a financial cover of two lakh rupees in the event of death or permanent disability, and half that amount in the event of partial disability.

On September 18th, the Minister of AYUSH Sarbananda Sonowal said that the Ministry should promote Ayush Aahar across the country since it will help prevent the youth from diseases caused by junk food. The Minister was at Janakpuri, New Delhi, for a meeting with officers and scientists from the Ministry’s five research councils and two National Commissions at the Central Councils Common Building Complex. To attain Suposhit Bharat’s ultimate goal, the Ministry of Ayush is promoting an Ayush-based diet and lifestyle and is partnering with the Ministry of Women and Child Development on the Poshan Abhiyan. He added that the experience and skills of the Senior Council Officials must be employed by the Commission to increase the spread of Ayush.
