Indian Bank has named Shanti Lal Jain as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Cabinet Appointments Committee accepted Jain’s appointment as Managing Director, as proposed by the Department of Financial Services. This is stated in the order issued by the Ministry of Personnel. The appointment will be for three years, beginning on or after September 1, 2021. Shanti Lal Jain is the Executive Director of Bank of Baroda at the moment. The appointment can be extended for up to two years depending on his performance. Padmaja Chunduru, who took over as CEO of Indian Bank in September 2018, is the current CEO. He will be replaced by Shanti Lal.
