Urban Services in India: Today Latest Current Affairs
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide a USD 350 million loan to India to boost access to urban services. Some services will be delivered via accelerating policy actions and reforms targeted at enhancing service delivery, as well as increasing performance-based central financial transfers to local governments (ULBs). For program execution, monitoring, and evaluation, the ADB will offer information and advisory support to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. ADB will also provide assistance to ULBs, particularly in low-income states, in the areas of policy reform, investment planning, and cross-cutting concerns such as gender equality, climate change, social inclusion, and environmental and social safeguards evaluation.

Indian Culture: Today Current Affairs in English
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Prasar Bharati and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, ICCR, to promote Indian culture. The performances of famous musicians connected to the ICCR will be broadcast on Doordarshan’s national and international channels. In the shape of a weekly program, the dance and music performances will be broadcast on DD National, DD India, Doordarshan regional stations, and Prasar Bharati News Services (Digital Platform of Prasar Bharati). The MoU intends to showcase the finest of Indian culture to national and international audiences, as well as provide performing artists with TV and digital platforms.
Self Help Groups (SHGs): 21 December 2021 Current Affairs
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited a one-of-a-kind women empowerment event in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on December 21, which drew approximately 2 lakh women. Many of them had received government support through various programs. On the occasion, the Prime Minister also spoke with the recipients. In an effort to help women, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for 202 Supplementary Nutrition Manufacturing Units and donated Rs. 1000 crore to Self Help Groups (SHGs), benefiting around 16 lakh women. Under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM), 80,000 SHGs received Community Investment Fund (CIF) of Rs. 1.10 lakh each, while 60,000 SHGs received Revolving Fund of Rs. 15000 each.
State’s Longest Bridge: Today GK Affairs
T-Setu, which spans the Mahanadi River, was opened by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on December 20, 2021. T-Setu, built over the Mahanadi River in Cuttack district, is Odisha’s longest bridge. It’s a 3.4-kilometer-long, 7.5-meter-wide bridge. Gopinathpur in Badamba, Baideswar in Banki, and Singhanath Pitha in the middle of the Mahanadi River are connected by a bridge. The bridge is shaped like the letter ‘T’ in the English alphabet. The bridge would cost Rs 111 crore in total. On both sides of the T-Setu bridge, there is a walkway. It has a width of 1.5 meters. Cuttack and Khurda residents would profit from T-Setu since it will reduce the distance between Badamba and Baideswar by 45 kilometers.

Jupiter’s Moon Ganymede: Latest in Current Affairs
The sounds acquired by the Juno spacecraft near Jupiter’s moon Ganymede have been released by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Juno returned data from its flyby across the Solar System’s largest moon, Ganymede. Data derived from noises recorded on the moon’s surface gives a thrilling journey inside Ganymede’s domain. Juno’s wave instrument selected a 50-second audio recording, which NASA shared. The wave instrument listens for electric and magnetic radio waves produced in Jupiter’s magnetosphere. For the audio track, scientists adjusted the collected frequencies into the audio spectrum.
