IAF Inducted 8 Boeing AH-64 Apache Combat Helicopters To Boost Air Force
3rd September 2019 Current Affairs: The Indian Forest On Monday inducted 8 Apache helicopters at the Pathankot airbase. These are the most advanced combat helicopters. To boost up the India Air Force combat powers these helicopters are helpful. Air Force chief Marshal BS Dhanoa was the chief guest at the ceremony at Pathankot airbase. US Army has flown this advanced multi-role combat helicopters called AH-64E Apache. Before the induction of at the Pathankot airbase, the Air Force chief and Western Air Commander Air Marshal R Nambiar performed a ‘pooja’ ceremony. India is the 14th nation in the world to be operating the Apache attack helicopters. As of now, we have 8 aircraft. 22 aircraft will come in a phased manner and all will be inducted into the IAF.
Rajasthan Govt Has Launched The New Health Scheme – AB-MGRSBY
3rd September 2019 Current Affairs: Rajasthan State Government launched the new health insurance scheme called Ayushman Bharat-Mahatma Gandhi Rajasthan Swasthya Bima Yojna (AB-MGRSBY) On 3rd September 2019. By integrating the State govt scheme of Bhamashah Health Insurance Scheme(BSBY) and Central Govt Scheme of Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna Scheme (AB-PMJAY), this new scheme called AB-MGRSBY is launched. Under the health scheme, around 1.1 crore families will be covered. The sum insured now is Rs. 30000 for general diseases and Rs. 3 lakh per year for serious diseases. Under the AB-PMJAY, which provides coverage of Rs.5 lakh per year. But under this AB-MGRSBY Scheme benefits in all impaneled private and public hospitals to provide cashless treatment facility. Families should have their Aadhaar card and ration card linked with Bhamashah card (Jan Adhaar card) for availing the benefits. Until 12th December 2019, this scheme will be available.
KVIC Launches “Terracota Grinder” To Reuse Wasted Pottery At Varanasi
3rd September 2019 Current Affairs: Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) launched a first-ever ‘Terracotta Grinder’ at Sewapuri in Varanasi. This machine is launched to reuse the wasted Pottery. The grinder was designed by KVIC Chairman Vinay Kumar Saxena and fabricated by a Rajkot-based engineering unit. This machine can be used to grind wasted and broken pottery items to re-use in pottery-making. Normally, the wasted pottery items were grounded in a normal Khal-musal (mortar and pestle) and its fine powder was mixed with the normal clay. But by using this machine, potters can grinde the wasted potteries in less time than the traditional ones and can solve the problem of shortage of clays using this machine. This will also create more job opportunities in the villages.
