Educational Qualifications – NTPC Executive Trainee Job 2026
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant engineering discipline or AMIE (enrolled up to 31.05.2013), along with a valid GATE-2025 qualification. A minimum of 65% marks in the qualifying degree is required (55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates).

Selection Process
- GATE-2025 qualification is mandatory for all candidates.
- Shortlisting will be based on GATE-2025 performance and organizational requirements.
- Candidates must attend Document Verification if shortlisted.
- A Medical Examination will be conducted by the NTPC Medical Board/Officer.
- The Offer of Appointment will be issued subject to meeting all advertised eligibility criteria.
Salary/Stipend
- Grade: E1 Grade
- Pay Scale: ₹40,000 – ₹1,40,000
- Starting Basic Pay: ₹40,000 per month
- Applicable To: All Engineering Executive Trainee posts (Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation, and Computer Science & Information Technology)
Age Limit
- Maximum Age Limit: 27 years
- SC/ST Candidates: 5 years relaxation (Maximum 32 years)
- OBC Candidates: 3 years relaxation (Maximum 30 years)
- PwBD candidates are eligible for age relaxation of 10 years for General/EWS (up to 37 years), 13 years for OBC (up to 40 years), and 15 years for SC/ST (up to 42 years).
- Ex-Servicemen (XSM): Age relaxation as per Government of India norms
