Inter-state Projects: 09 December 2021 Current Affairs
Power Minister of India, R K Singh has approved 23 new inter-state transmission system projects for Rs 15,893 crore. The cost of thirteen of the 23 ISTS projects is expected to be Rs 14,766 crore. These projects will be built through tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB). Ten projects with a total cost of Rs 1,127 crore would be established under the Regulated Tariff Mechanism (RTM). The new transmission projects would make it simpler to evacuate 14 GW of renewable energy projects in Rajasthan and 5 GW in Gujarat. A 1 GW Neemuch Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh might supply villages around Akhnoor and Jammu by establishing a Siot Substation in Jammu.

Localization of SDGs: Today GK Affairs
On the 07th of December, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Giriraj Singh presented a report titled “Localization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) via Panchayati Raj Institutions.” The Minister praised the Expert Committee’s work in producing this educational study, which will serve as a roadmap for attaining the SDGs. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj established an Expert Group in May 2021 to give policy input to the Ministry on the localization of SDGs at the Panchayat level. Mr. Singh also introduced two new dashboards. The Gram Panchayat Development Plan Monitoring Dashboard is one of them. The second is a Training Management Portal for Capacity Building and Training of Panchayati Raj Institutions Elected Representatives and Functionaries.

Helicopter Crash: 09 December 2021 Current Affairs
General Bipin Rawat, India’s first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), along with his wife and 11 members of his personal staff, were killed in the Mi-17V5 helicopter crash. According to the crash near Coonoor, the Mi-17V5 was flying low to keep the terrain insight. The pilot was then pushed to fly despite the severe weather. He was a four-star general in the Indian Army and an Indian military commander. He was the first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of the Indian Armed Forces, serving in that capacity from January 2020 until his death in December 2021. He was the 57th and last Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee and the 26th Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army before becoming CDS.

India- ADB Agreements: Current Affairs 2021
Two financing agreements have been inked by the central government for projects in Uttarakhand and Tamil Nadu. The Rs 2,074 crore credit deal will be utilized to fund an affordable housing project in Tamil Nadu and a water sanitation project in Uttarakhand. In Tamil Nadu, the government and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) inked a USD 150 million financing deal to provide urban poor people with access to resilient, inclusive, and sustainable housing. In the Uttarakhand cities of Dehradun and Nainital, a USD 125 million financing arrangement was signed to expand access to clean and cheap drinking water as well as citywide inclusive sanitation facilities.

Bhasha Sangam App: Latest Current Affairs Today
The Education Ministry has introduced a smartphone app called Bhasha Sangam to enable at least 75 lakh individuals to learn basic conversation skills in languages different than their native tongue. As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, this language learning project was taken under the Ek Bharat-Shrestha Bharat Program. The app contains over 100 typical usage statements in 22 Indian languages, both in text and audio format. During the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Ministry hopes to educate at least 75 lakh individuals in 100 words in an Indian language other than their home tongue. In addition, a new Ek Bharat-Shreshta Bharat quiz mobile app has been released.
