Phosphatic & Potassic Fertilizers: Today Current Affairs

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the Department of Fertilizers’ proposal to establish the Nutrient Based Subsidy Rates for Phosphatic and Potassic Fertilizers (P&K) for the fiscal year 2021-22. The authorized rate for Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) for Nitrogen is 18.789 rupees per kilogram, 45.323 rupees per kilogram for Phosphorus, 10.116 rupees per kilogram for Potash, and 2.374 rupees per kilogram for Sulphur. A unique one-time package of extra subsidy on Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) at an approximate cost of 5 thousand 716 crore rupees has also been granted. The total amount of rollover would be 28 thousand 602 crore rupees. After subtracting savings, the net subsidy required for the rabi season in 2021-22 will be 28 thousand 655 crore rupees. The Nutrient Based Subsidy Scheme will now include Potash generated from Molasses, according to the CCEA.

Card, a University of California, Berkeley professor, was awarded half of the prize “for his empirical contributions to labor economics.” Card’s research has focused on the labor market impact of minimum wages, as well as immigration and education. The other half went to Angrist, an MIT professor, and Imbens, a Stanford professor, “for their analytical contributions to the study of causal relationships.

Coal Ministry Launches Auction: Today Latest Current Affairs

The auction procedure for 40 new coal mines has begun, according to the Coal Ministry. According to the Ministry, there are a total of 88 coal mines on offer, with 40 of them being new mines and the rest 48 being rollover mines from previous auctions. A total of 55 billion tonnes of coal geological resources are available, including 57 completely explored mines and 31 partially explored mines. According to the Ministry, four coking coal mines are available. Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, and Assam are among the ten coal-producing states. Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi spoke at the event, emphasizing that the government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is on a never-ending path to reform the coal sector and unleash value for the nation’s economy.
