Free Trade Agreement: Latest in Current Affairs
India and Israel have decided to begin Free Trade Agreement discussions next month, i.e, in November. External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar told the media following discussions with Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid that talks would begin in November and that he is certain that negotiations will be completed by June next year. Both Ministers spoke about a variety of regional and international problems. They agreed to mutual recognition of Covid vaccine certification in principle. Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Chairman of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), has stated that as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, India would invite young leaders from 75 democracies as part of the Gen-Next Democratic Network project. According to Dr. Sahasrabuddhe, on October 18th, young leaders under the age of 35 from the ruling party, opposition party, and other significant parties would be invited, with the first batch including leaders from Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Japan, Indonesia, Chile, and Zambia. The event would be inaugurated by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on November 25th, he added.
