Sunder Lal Bahuguna, a well-known environmentalist and leader of the Chipko movement, died. He was born in Tehri, Uttarakhand, on January 9, 1927. Sunderlal began his political career when he was 13 years old. He was a faithful Gandhi follower whose sole purpose in life was to protect the world. In the 1960s, he concentrated on forest and tree preservation. Sunderlal Bahuguna, Gaura Devi, and others later launched the Chipko movement to save the forest.
