Deputy Election Commissioner Of India: Latest In Current Affairs
T. Srikanth has been appointed as Deputy Election Commissioner of the Central Electoral Commission by the Central Government. Srikanth comes from Madanapalle in Chittoor district and has previously served in the Union Territories in various capacities. Besides, Srikanth is a Union Territories (UT) cadre IAS officer from the 2004 batch. He was the Chief Electoral Officer of Puducherry from September 2012 until July 2014. He will be a Deputy Election Commissioner at the Central Election Commission until 2023 when he will be on deputation in the Central Services.

Malabar Exercise 2021: Gk Current Affairs Today
From August 26 to 29, the quad countries of India, the United States, Australia, and Japan will hold the next edition of the Malabar naval exercise off the coast of Guam. The ‘Malabar-21’ exercise would include destroyers, patrol boats, submarines, helicopters, and long-range maritime patrol aircraft, according to Navy spokesperson Commander Vivek Madhwal. Exercises with surface and air targets, as well as submarine destroyers, will be conducted. The Malabar exercise began in 1992 as a bilateral exercise in the Indian Ocean between the Indian Navy and the US Navy. In 2015, Japan became a permanent participant in the exercise. Chandrasekharan Passed Away: Today Current Affairs
O Chandrasekharan, a former Olympian football player who was a member of the Indian team that won the Asian Games gold medal in 1962, has died. In 1959, he made his Asian Cup qualifying debut. He was a member of the Indian Olympic team that competed in Rome in 1960. Maharashtra was captained by Chandrasekaran. From 1959 through 1965, Chandrasekaran played domestic cricket for Maharashtra in the Santosh Trophy.
